I could literally see the influence of Western fashion on my Totanaca students by grade level. A few years out of school, and they might still be wearing their traditional embroidered blouses. The seniors wore skirts and collared blouses. The sophomores were all about booty hugging jeans and tight t-shirts. For graduation, some of the girls wore their traditional clothing, but changed immediately after the ceremony.
